Information checked on 3 October 2026 against the organiser's website; the organiser's information prevails.
Exhibitek Displays is an independent stand builder: not the organiser of in-cosmetics Global and not one of its official contractors. The name and logo belong to RX.
What visitors expect from a stand at in-cosmetics Global
in-cosmetics Global is RX’s trade show for personal care ingredients, held in a host city that rotates around Europe. Its current Barcelona floorplan fills Halls 3, 4 and 5 of Gran Via, with the entrance, the Fragrance Zone and the testing and regulatory area in Hall 3, contract manufacturing and the formulation labs in Hall 5, and the Innovation Zone in Hall 4.
Entry is for business professionals only: the formulators and buyers who choose actives, emollients, UV filters, pigments, extracts and fragrance for beauty brands.
An ingredient is hard to show on a shelf. It must be explained, smelled, felt as a texture or backed with data, so the stand is a small lab and a meeting room at once: a sensory bar at the front, quiet tables behind, samples out of sight. We plan those zones first, as on all our custom exhibition stands.
Engineering notes for an in-cosmetics Global stand
Power. Fira supplies all power, and every stand needs its own supply with an isolator. Multi-socket adaptors are banned, stands over 50 kW need an electrical project, and an upgrade ordered on site can take up to seven hours.
Service chests. Fira’s floor chests are not joined by continuous ducts, so a neighbour’s cables may cross your plot. The organiser advises a platform of about 100 mm with a hatch to the chest.
Rigging. Only Fira’s rigging service hangs items, from CE-marked truss, never from wood. Fira’s current rules allow 250 kg per point in Halls 3 and 4 and 150 kg in Hall 5, hoist included, 1 m apart and within 15 kg per square metre. The last Barcelona manual set 150 kg, 6 m and no rigging under the walkway; the next one decides.
Water and demos. Mains water reaches only stands with a service duct, and a water feature needs a Legionella risk assessment. Demos for ten or more people sit towards the stand’s centre and appear on the plans.

in-cosmetics Global stand rules to plan for
These points draw on the organiser’s last Barcelona manual and Fira’s venue rules; the coming edition’s manual prevails.
- Height. Single-storey stands may reach 4 m from the hall floor, column cladding included. Going higher takes a written request with calculations and a paid structural approval; the last Barcelona manual capped stands at 6 m, or 5 m under the walkway, and warned that dismantling time is short.
- No double decks. Two-storey stands are not allowed. Platforms stopped at 18 cm in the last Barcelona manual, and a raised area of 50 cm or more, such as a stage, needs Fira’s construction certificate signed by an architect or engineer.
- Open sides. At most half of any open side may be solid, with long walls broken up by displays; more needs the organiser’s permission and a 500 mm set-back.
- Dividing walls. Each exhibitor builds its own, 2.5 to 4 m high and plain above 2.5 m. Anything taller steps back 0.5 m, or 1 m if branded towards the neighbour; no flashing lights.
- Fire and ceilings. Euroclass C-s2,d0 for walls and ceilings, Class 1 under UNE-EN 13773 for hanging textiles. Permeable ceilings are recommended; a fabric one needs 40–60% open mesh on an EU-approved frame.
- Complex structures. Freestanding elements without three perpendicular supporting sides, stages from 50 cm and hung structures containing wood need a certified technician’s project, with CTE calculations in English checked by an independent structural engineer.
Summary of the in-cosmetics Global Exhibitor and Contractor Manual, Stand Build Regulations (Barcelona) (opens in a new tab) (RX, 2023), consulted on 3 October 2026. The organiser's current manual prevails.
Send us your floor plan: we check it against the current rules.
From plot confirmation to opening day
- Plot confirmed. We read the build regulations and Fira’s rules together and agree height, open sides and walling in writing.
- About 10 to 11 weeks before opening. The file goes to the organiser’s plan checker: dimensioned plans and elevations, rigging details, calculations, risk assessment, method statement and the builder’s liability insurance. Permission to Build follows.
- About 6 to 7 weeks before. Electrics are ordered with a drawing of the mains position, then signed off by the Catalan Industry Department; late orders have cost about a third more. Compressed air or gas is flagged to the organiser by now.
- About 3 weeks before. Fira Store orders for rigging, water, cleaning, catering and internet, the organiser’s stand information form and any paid early build-up day.
- Build-up. At the last Barcelona edition, construction ended two evenings before opening and the final day was for dressing only. Hi-vis and safety footwear are compulsory and MDF is never cut on site. Our production, logistics and build method keeps those days for assembly.
- Dismantling. Never on the closing evening for space-only stands; last time it took the next day and the following morning. Gran Via can host another show soon after, so the breakdown is planned with the design.

in-cosmetics questions
Questions ingredient suppliers ask about in-cosmetics Global stands
Can we display raw ingredients or chemicals on an in-cosmetics Global stand?
Yes, with the organiser’s written approval for any hazardous substance, a COSHH-style risk assessment and a special-risk declaration. Compressed gases and LPG are allowed only by exception, notified at least six weeks ahead, and hot work needs a permit.
Can we serve drinks or snacks to visitors at in-cosmetics Global?
Yes, but only through Gastrofira, the venue’s caterer. All food and drink served on stands comes from it, ordered through the Fira Store with the other venue services.
How accessible must an in-cosmetics Global stand be?
Any platform above 5 cm needs a ramp at least 1 m wide, built in on stands from 20 square metres, and no steeper than 10% when under 3 m long. Counters need a section no higher than 760 mm, and doors 800 mm clear width with a vision panel.
Does in-cosmetics Global take place in Barcelona every year?
No. RX moves the show between European host cities, each with its own exhibitor manual; in Barcelona it uses Fira Gran Via. The facts card shows the edition we follow.
Who checks our stand while it is being built at in-cosmetics Global?
The organiser’s health and safety manager and structural engineer walk the halls during build-up, and fixes are made before opening. A non-compliant stand can be altered or dismantled at the exhibitor’s cost. Our FAQ on build-up and dismantling covers site work in general.
