IFEMA MADRID: the fairground, its halls and its fairs

IFEMA MADRID is the capital’s trade fair institution. Its fairground lies in the Campo de las Naciones area, in north-east Madrid, a few minutes from Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport.

The fairground

About 240,000 m² spread over 13 halls, 85 rooms, the North and South convention centres and outdoor areas. Metro line 8 stops at Feria de Madrid, with an exit facing the South entrance, five minutes from the airport station. IFEMA also runs the Palacio Municipal, a congress venue in the same area.

Fairs held there

IFEMA organises many of the capital’s sector fairs, and external organisers add more. Among the best known: FITUR (tourism), ARCOmadrid (contemporary art), Fruit Attraction (fresh produce), SICUR (security), GENERA (energy) and MATELEC (electrical industry).

Rules to plan for

Each fair publishes an exhibitor guide with heights, open-side rules and deadlines for stand plans. Before build-up, every contractor completes IFEMA’s online procedure for occupational risk prevention and coordination of activities. Suspended structures and work at height need certified projects, materials need fire-reaction certificates, and power, water, rigging and internet are ordered through IFEMA’s services.

The method we bring to IFEMA MADRID

These stands were delivered at Fira Gran Via, Barcelona. The same method, from rules to handover, applies at IFEMA.

How we work at IFEMA MADRID

  1. Exhibitor guide. We read your fair’s guide before we draw and confirm every constraint in writing.
  2. Design and certified projects. 3D views and drawings for approval, plus certified projects for suspended elements or upper floors.
  3. Contractor procedure. We complete IFEMA’s online prevention and coordination procedure and register the crew.
  4. Services. We list power, water, rigging and internet with quantities and positions, and order them with you or for you.
  5. Production and delivery. Elements are produced and checked, then delivered on the fair’s access schedule.
  6. Build-up and handover. Our crew builds; the site lead checks safety and finish, then hands the stand to your team.
  7. Show days and dismantling. Your project manager stays reachable; we dismantle within the window and store reusable parts on request.

Madrid questions

Hiring an exhibition stand builder in Madrid: common questions

How early should we start for FITUR or ARCOmadrid?

As soon as your space is confirmed. The most popular fairs set early deadlines for stand plans and service orders, and three to four months is a comfortable margin for a custom stand.

Can we build a double-deck stand at IFEMA?

It depends on the hall and the fair’s rules. A double-deck stand needs a certified project and the organiser’s approval, so we check feasibility before we design.

Do we order IFEMA’s services, or do you?

Either way. Services are usually ordered in the exhibitor’s name; we tell you exactly what to order, or place the orders for you.

Do you also build at the Palacio Municipal?

Yes. Congress exhibitions and sponsor booths at IFEMA’s Palacio Municipal follow the venue’s rules and the organiser’s manual, and we plan them the same way as a fair stand.

How do deliveries reach the fairground?

Vehicle access and unloading follow each fair’s logistics plan, with set slots and entrances. We book them and coordinate any product deliveries with your forwarder.

Can you manage the project if our company is outside Spain?

Yes. We work in English and Spanish and handle the rules, the paperwork and the build for exhibitors based abroad. Our exhibition stand FAQ covers the general questions.
