Information checked on 3 October 2026 against the organiser's website; the organiser's information prevails.

Exhibitek Displays is an independent stand builder: not the organiser of Vitafoods Europe and not one of its official contractors. The name and logo belong to Informa Markets.

What buyers look for on a stand at Vitafoods Europe

Vitafoods Europe is Informa Markets’ trade show for nutraceuticals, dietary supplements and functional ingredients, held at Fira Gran Via since its move from Geneva. It spreads over Halls 2 to 5, with visitors coming in through the South Entrance while exhibitors use the East Entrance, nearest to Fira metro station.

The floor runs from ingredients and raw materials to branded supplements, sports nutrition and gummies, contract manufacturing and private label, services and equipment, nutricosmetics and pet nutrition. The show is for industry professionals, on paid tickets, and nobody under 16 is admitted.

Conversations here turn on formulations, documentation and supply, so a stand needs more meeting tables than shelves, a sampling point that passes a hygiene audit and storage for samples. We size those areas first, as for all our custom exhibition stands.

Engineering notes for a Vitafoods Europe stand

Power. Fira supplies it through CEE sockets rated 16, 32 or 63 A; anything larger runs on a dedicated Fira service line. Above 50 kW the project carries the stamp of the Catalan engineers’ association, and a generator over 10 kVA is legalised too. Boards open only with a tool, and lighting circuits and anything visitors can touch sit behind 30 mA protection.

Platforms and services. Fira counts 50 mm of platform as enough to hide cables but recommends at least 80 mm where water or air arrive, which matters for a sampling sink. A hatch keeps each floor chest reachable.

Floor loads. Halls 3 and 4 take 5,000 kg/m² and Hall 5 takes 3,000 kg/m²; heavy equipment in Hall 2 is checked with Fira first.

Rigging. Servifira alone rigs. Points carry 150 kg in Halls 2 and 5 and 250 kg in Halls 3 and 4, hoist included, 1 m apart and within 15 kg per square metre; higher-capacity points need a feasibility study. Each request shows height, weight and orientation.

Vitafoods Europe stand rules to plan for

These points follow Fira’s Gran Via regulations; where the organiser’s exhibitor manual sets other limits, the manual prevails.

  • Height. 5 m where the hall and the stand’s proportions allow and sightlines stay clear; taller means a complex structure. Under the connecting walkway in Halls 2 and 3 the limit is 4 m, and the smoke curtains that drop to 2.50 m above the floor must stay unobstructed.
  • Double decks. Always a complex structure. Closed space below needs detection linked to Fira’s control centre through a Servifira device, with 24-hour power and alarm buttons within 25 m. Fira caps the upper floor at half the stand at its own events; Informa may set its own rule.
  • Complex structures. Stands over 5 m, freestanding elements over 4 m without three bracing planes, stages from 50 cm with access and public seating need Fira’s authorisation, requested through the organiser, with a signed CTE project and, over 100 square metres, an evacuation and fire-detection plan.
  • Fire class. Walls and ceilings C-s2,d0, floor coverings EFL, hanging textiles Class 1 under UNE-EN 13773, with certificates under five years old. Cladding around an alarm button keeps an opening of at least 15 × 15 cm.
  • Ceilings. Ceilings should be permeable, letting the hall’s air in, with a tidy top side seen from above. Closed sections need at least one detector per 60 square metres; single-level stands under 100 square metres may use standalone CE detectors.
  • Rooms and ramps. Ramps stay inside the stand. A meeting room for 50 people or more needs a CTE compliance project before build-up, and evacuation allows one exit up to 100 people, two above, on routes of 25 m at most.

Summary of the venue's technical rules, Gran Via Technical Regulations (opens in a new tab) (Fira de Barcelona, August 2025 version), consulted on 3 October 2026. The current version prevails.

Send us your floor plan: we check it against the rules in force.

From plot confirmation to opening day

  1. Plot confirmed. When the exhibitor manual opens, we compare its height, open-side and double-deck rules with Fira’s and agree them with you in writing.
  2. Approvals. Complex structures and rigging always need Fira’s authorisation, requested through the organiser; the manual sets the channel and deadline for the stand plan.
  3. About two weeks before build-up. Power, water, drainage and compressed air are ordered and paid; later orders are not guaranteed. The sampling file goes alongside: hygiene commitment, health registration and HACCP records.
  4. Security. A security firm other than Fira’s files its form with Fira at least 48 hours ahead.
  5. Build-up. Early starts are approved and paid separately, and extra hours are requested from the Hall Manager before noon. No private cars inside, nobody under 16, saws with dust extraction, and escalators and public lifts never carry stand materials. Our production and build process is designed around those limits.
  6. Show days and breakdown. The current FAQ lets exhibitors in from 07:30. At the end, waste leaves daily and the plot is returned clean, carpet tape included, or Fira cleans it at your cost.

Vitafoods questions

Planning a Vitafoods Europe exhibition stand: questions

Can we hand out supplement samples or drinks on our Vitafoods Europe stand?

Yes, under EU food-hygiene rules: a signed hygiene commitment, health registration, HACCP records, a sink with running water and lidded bins. Fira’s authorised company audits the stand at the exhibitor’s cost, and gas cooking is not allowed.

Is a reusable stand compulsory at Vitafoods Europe?

No, the organiser encourages it rather than requiring it. Its Better Stands programme aims for every space-only stand to reach Bronze or above: structure, walls, platform, furniture and lighting all reusable. Silver adds the fascia, signage, rigged parts, ceiling and displays; Gold adds graphics and flooring. We build frames for reuse and can store them until your next show.

Which entrance do exhibitors use at Vitafoods Europe?

The East Entrance; its nearest station is Fira, on metro line L9 Sud. Visitors use the South Entrance, nearest to Europa|Fira.

Where are Vitafoods Europe’s own stand rules published?

In the organiser’s exhibitor manual, a portal for registered exhibitors that also holds the floorplan, schedule and forms with their deadlines. Fira’s Gran Via regulations sit beneath it, and we check your plan against both.

Can we use fog effects or music on a Vitafoods Europe stand?

Fog needs special approval. Sound stays within 3 dB of the hall’s background and never above 60 dB. More planning answers are in our stand FAQ for exhibitors in Spain.
