Information checked on 3 October 2026 against the organiser's website; the organiser's information prevails.

Exhibitek Displays is an independent stand builder: not the organiser of Advanced Factories and not one of its official contractors. The name and logo belong to Nebext.

What a stand at Advanced Factories has to prove

Advanced Factories, in full Advanced Factories Expo & Industry 4.0 Congress, is organised by Nebext and runs together with AMT – Advanced Machine Tools. It covers industrial and collaborative robotics, process automation, machine vision and sensors, industrial AI and software, IIoT, digital twins, cybersecurity, intralogistics with AGVs and AMRs, additive manufacturing, metrology and energy efficiency, while AMT adds machine tools and metalworking.

The congress runs alongside the exhibition with speakers and industrial case studies, and the visitors are industry professionals. The organiser places the show in Hall 2 of Gran Via.

Here the product usually has to move. A robot cell, a vision line or an AGV route needs floor space, guarding and a clear view for the people watching, plus a quieter corner where engineers can talk through an application. We plan demo cells, sightlines and meeting space before the look, as on all our bespoke exhibition stands.

Engineering notes for an Advanced Factories stand

Getting machines in. Hall 2 measures roughly 90 by 393 m, and its 20 goods doors are 5 m wide and 4.2 m high, which sets the largest piece that can be brought in whole. The floor is rated at 5,000 kg/m², except for one part rated at 1,800 kg/m², so the plot’s position is checked first.

Power. Fira supplies 400/230 V through CEE plugs of 16, 32 or 63 A, and a supply above 63 A needs its own service line. An electrician authorised in Catalonia builds and certifies the installation; above 50 kW, an engineer’s project stamped by the Catalan engineers’ association is required.

Noise. Running equipment counts too: sound stays within 3 dB of the hall’s background noise and never above 60 dB, so a noisy cycle needs enclosing or a quieter demo mode.

Advanced Factories stand rules to plan for

These points come from Fira’s Gran Via technical regulations; the organiser’s manual, inside a login-protected Exhibitor Hub, decides where it differs.

  • Height. 5 m where the hall and the stand’s proportions allow; anything taller is a complex structure. In Hall 2, a plot built entirely under the connecting walkway stops at 4 m, while one only partly under it may keep 5 m if the service area stays clear.
  • Complex structures. Stands above 5 m, totems or partitions over 4 m without bracing in three perpendicular planes, double decks with an accessible upper floor, stages from 0.5 m with access and complex rigging all wait for Fira’s approval. A qualified technician signs the calculated project, supervises the build and hands over a soundness certificate before opening.
  • Double decks. Fira caps the upper floor at 50% of the plot for the events it organises and keeps it out of neighbours’ sightlines; whether Nebext applies the same cap is set in its manual. Closed rooms beneath need detection linked to Fira’s control centre.
  • Fire performance. C-s2,d0 for walls and ceilings, EFL underfoot, Class 1 for hanging fabric, proven by accredited laboratory certificates issued within five years. Ceilings are never fully closed, and closed sections carry a CE smoke detector for every 60 square metres.
  • Rigging. Fira’s official rigging supplier installs every point, ordered through Servifira with a dimensioned drawing. A Hall 2 point takes 150 kg including hoists, or 250 kg at high-capacity points after a feasibility study, and hung elements may never also rest on floor-standing parts.
  • Walls and floor. Everything is self-supporting with finished backs, and nothing is drilled, painted or glued; platforms stop at 18 cm, with a ramp at least 1 m wide from 5 cm.

Summary of the venue's technical rules, Gran Via Technical Regulations (opens in a new tab) (Fira de Barcelona, August 2026 version), consulted on 3 October 2026. The current version prevails.

Know your plot? Send the layout and we check it against the venue’s rules.

From plot confirmation to opening day

  1. Plot confirmed. We ask for the organiser’s manual from your Exhibitor Hub account and read it against Fira’s regulations: heights, walling, plan deadline and build-up dates.
  2. Stand plan. Floorplans reach Fira within the period the organiser agrees with the venue, so fire safety and evacuation can be checked. Complex structures add their signed project, approved before build-up.
  3. At least two weeks before build-up. Electricity, water, compressed air and other Servifira services are ordered and paid, the only way supply is guaranteed; a line above 63 A has the same deadline.
  4. Build-up. The organiser sets the dates. Starting earlier needs Fira’s paid authorisation, same-day extensions go to the Hall Manager by 12:00, and empty packaging leaves the halls 24 hours before opening. Passes are ID-based and nobody under 16 enters. See how we produce, ship and build stands.
  5. Dismantling. Waste leaves daily, with oils, batteries, paints and solvents sent for recycling. Anything left after the deadline is removed at the exhibitor’s cost.

Advanced Factories questions

Advanced Factories stands: questions from exhibitors

Can we run live robot demonstrations on an Advanced Factories stand?

Yes, with CE-marked machines, guards and emergency stops, safety devices kept active and trained operators. Because Fira can stop a demonstration it judges unsafe, we draw guarding and visitor distances on the plan.

How do machines from outside the EU get into Advanced Factories?

Through the venue’s own trade-fair customs office, code 0851. Goods arrive under T1 transit or an ATA Carnet, the temporary-import declaration is filed within 24 hours of arrival, and re-export goes through the same office.

Is compressed air available for machine demos at Advanced Factories?

Yes, from floor boxes ordered through Servifira. Fira’s regulations quote 7 bar and about 1,000 l/min in one section but 6.5 bar and 700 to 1,000 l/min in the hall tables, so we size demos to the lower figure. A compressor of your own needs approval and sound insulation.

Where are the stand rules for Advanced Factories published?

Fira’s Gran Via technical regulations are public. The organiser’s exhibitor manual, with the build-up dates and plan deadline, sits in the Exhibitor Hub behind your login, so share it with us early.

Who inspects our stand during build-up at Advanced Factories?

Fira’s technicians. They can ask for extra documents or stability tests at the exhibitor’s cost and halt work for safety, and a non-compliant stand can be closed or dismantled at the exhibitor’s expense. Wider questions are covered in our FAQ on stand budgets and timing.
