Information checked on 3 October 2026 against the organiser's website; the organiser's information prevails.
Exhibitek Displays is an independent stand builder: not the organiser of ISE and not one of its official contractors. The name and logo belong to Integrated Systems Events.
Who judges an ISE exhibition stand
Integrated Systems Europe is run by Integrated Systems Events, a joint venture of the AVIXA and CEDIA associations. Pro AV, audio, lighting and staging, broadcast, digital signage and LED, unified communications, education technology and smart buildings fill all eight Gran Via halls, plus Congress Square and the Upper Walkway.
The visitors are specialists: integrators, distributors and end clients who notice a flickering screen, a visible cable or sound bleeding from next door long before the carpet. At ISE the stand is a reference installation.
So we start from the equipment list, the sightlines to each screen and the acoustic separation between demo zones, and shape the structure after. Our stand design and 3D visualisation phase tests those choices before anything is built.
Engineering notes for an ISE stand
Power. Space-only stands buy power from the Fira store, priced per kilowatt per day. An installer licensed by the Generalitat de Catalunya certifies the installation, with a local collegiate engineer above 50 kW. Breakers are type A, splitters are banned, and power arrives 48 hours before opening.
Flown AV. Only Servifira, Fira’s service company, may rig, and only what appears in the Abraxys-approved design. Loads hang no higher than 700 cm and 100 cm clear of neighbours, on points at least 100 cm apart: 150 kg each in Halls 1, 2, 5, 7, 8.0 and 8.1, 250 kg in Halls 3, 4 and 6, within 15 kg per square metre of stand. Congress Square and the Upper Walkway take no rigging.
Ground-stacked screens. Floor capacity drops from 5,000 kg/m² in Halls 2, 3, 4 and 6 to 1,500 kg/m² in Hall 8.1, which decides where a heavy LED wall can stand.
Effects. Haze only in Hall 6 and the Lighting and Staging zone of Hall 8.1, on request. Lasers stay at least 3 m up, never scan onto people and, from class 3, need a laser safety officer. A wireless policy also applies.

ISE stand rules to plan for
- Height. Space-only stands, double decks included, may reach 700 cm in most halls, but only 500 cm in Hall 8.0, 400 cm in Congress Square and 300 cm on the Upper Walkway. Shell scheme stands stay at 245 cm.
- Neighbours. On peninsula, corner and inline plots, walls along a neighbour stop at 400 cm, and anything taller moves 100 cm back from the boundary. Every stand needs walls of at least 250 cm, with backs seen from next door clean, opaque and black or white.
- Open sides. At most half of any side facing the show floor may be closed, unless it faces a venue wall. Glass counts as open only when fully clear, with no vinyl, tint, blinds or curtains.
- Double decks. Closed rooms underneath, and closed areas over 100 square metres, need a professional smoke-detection system to UNE 23007-14, linked to Fira’s control centre. Stair handrails are at least 900 mm high and the structure follows the Spanish CTE code.
- Materials. Laminated safety glass only, 8 to 15 mm thick depending on pane size. No chipboard, particleboard or low-density fibreboard, only water-based fillers and fire-retardant ceilings; the venue’s technical regulations set the fire class for the rest.
- Floor and pillars. Nothing is screwed, nailed, painted or glued to the hall floor. Raised floors over 5 cm need a ramp at least 1 m wide at 1:10 or gentler, and pillar cladding keeps 15 to 20 cm clear, with fire equipment reachable.

From plot confirmation to opening day
- Classify the stand. A double deck or another complex structure is filed a week before a standard stand, so we settle the structure before design starts.
- Roughly 15 weeks before opening. Complex designs go to Abraxys through the Exhibitor Declaration portal, never by email: drawings at 1:50 or larger, 3D views, elevations with every height including rigged items, the stand number and, above 100 square metres, an evacuation plan.
- One week later. Standard designs and the Exhibitor Declaration are due, and discounted inspection fees end. No rigging or build-up starts without the Permission to Build Certificate.
- About seven weeks before. Rigging orders and structural calculations.
- About four weeks before. Fira store orders for power, internet and furniture, plus haze and early build-up requests; wireless exceptions a week later.
- Build-up week. General build-up opens a week before the show, with two paid early days on request. Vehicles, rigging and work at height stop on Sunday evening, and Monday is for fine-tuning only, with the docks closed. Our guide to stand building in Barcelona covers venue access.
- Breakdown. Power goes off at closing, hand-carried goods leave first and dismantling starts that evening; vehicles return next morning, and the last collection slot ends on the following Monday. Our stand production and logistics page shows how our crews run it.

Our work at ISE
An ISE stand we delivered
Streamit makes professional audio players and wireless sound systems. Its products had to be heard clearly in a noisy hall without breaking the show’s sound rules, with room left on the plot for meetings.
ISE questions
Planning a stand at ISE Barcelona: common questions
Do shell scheme stands at ISE need design approval?
No, shell scheme and Fira package stands are exempt. Space-only stands and demo rooms upload designs and pay compulsory inspection fees, discounted until the standard design deadline.
What is the Better Stands inspection at ISE?
An inspection of every space-only stand. Exhibitors are asked to aim for at least Bronze, meaning structure, walls, platform, furniture, equipment and lighting are all reused; a stand that misses it is rated single use. We design reusable frames and can store them between editions.
Can we start building before general build-up at ISE?
Yes, on two paid early days, requested about four weeks ahead; later requests need the organiser’s approval. General timing questions are covered in our exhibition stand FAQ.
Do closed demo rooms on an ISE stand need special approval?
They go through the same Abraxys design review as space-only stands, with the same compulsory fees. Rooms for more than 50 people need outward-opening doors, rooms for more than 99 need two doors, and emergency doors must not open onto the aisle.
How is waste handled during ISE build-up and breakdown?
Packaging leaves the stand daily and nothing is stored in aisles or behind stands. Skips come from the Fira store and are emptied nightly; waste left at the end is photographed and billed. A Donation Room run with the charity La Nau takes usable leftovers.
