Information checked on 3 October 2026 against the organiser's website; the organiser's information prevails.

Exhibitek Displays is an independent stand builder: not the organiser of Seafood Expo Global and not one of its official contractors. The name and logo belong to Diversified Communications.

Who you meet at a stand at Seafood Expo Global

Seafood Expo Global is organised by Diversified Communications, based in Portland, Maine, and runs alongside Seafood Processing Global. The first trades fresh, frozen, packaged and value-added seafood; the second shows processing and packaging equipment, supplies and services, with aquaculture technology in its own Aquaculture Innovation Zone.

Entry is for trade professionals only, with photo ID and nobody under 16, and visitors may not leave carrying seafood. National and regional pavilions are a strong feature of the floor, so an independent stand has to read clearly next to them.

For a seafood company the stand is a showroom and a sales office at once: product displayed in the right conditions, a tasting counter, quiet negotiating tables and sample storage. We plan those zones first, as for all our custom exhibition stands.

Engineering notes for a Seafood Expo Global stand

Power for cold display. All power comes from Fira, through CEE plugs of 16, 32 or 63 A, with a Fira service line above 63 A. Refrigerated counters add up quickly, and the paperwork follows the load: a technical report and wiring diagram up to 50 kW, an engineer’s project stamped by the Catalan engineering college above it. Power is switched on only after Fira’s Industry Service approves the installation and consumption is paid.

Cold chain. The organiser’s vendor list names suppliers for refrigeration and cold storage (see the questions below). Servifira, Fira de Barcelona’s services company, takes the orders for electricity, water, compressed air, rigging and cleaning.

Services under the floor. Platforms rise no more than 18 cm, with any ramp kept inside the stand at 10% or less, so water and power routes are drawn before the platform is.

Rigging. Only Fira’s rigging service installs points, ordered through Servifira with a drawing of heights and loads. Nothing hangs directly from the roof, points sit at least 1 m apart, loads stay within 15 kg per square metre and below 7 m, and safety wires of at least 6 mm are compulsory.

Seafood Expo Global stand rules to plan for

  • Height. The venue allows up to 5 m where the hall and the stand’s proportions permit and sightlines stay clear; taller builds are complex structures needing approval. The organiser’s own design regulations can set lower limits for this show, and they decide. The connecting areas between Halls 4 and 6 and between Halls 5 and 7, and plots fully under the walkway in Halls 2 and 3, stop at 4 m.
  • Complex structures. Stands over 5 m, freestanding elements over 4 m not braced in three perpendicular planes, accessible double decks, stages of 50 cm or more and complex rigging need a project signed by a qualified technician, approved before build-up, and a final stability certificate before opening.
  • Double decks. At events Fira organises itself, the upper deck covers no more than half the stand and must not block neighbours’ views; Diversified may set its own limit. Closed spaces underneath need professional smoke detection linked to Fira’s control centre.
  • Fire class. Walls and ceilings Euroclass C-s2,d0, floor coverings EFL and hanging textiles Class 1 under UNE-EN 13773, each with a laboratory certificate under five years old. Straw, wood or paper shavings, dry leaves and dripping plastics are banned as decoration.
  • Ceilings. Never fully closed, and Fira recommends permeable ones. Closed sections, textile ones included, need CE-certified smoke detectors, at least one per 60 square metres; over 100 square metres of closed space needs a professional system.
  • Walls and floor. Fully self-supporting, never loading a neighbour’s walls or the hall’s, with fire equipment and service chests reachable. No drilling, screwing, paint or glue on the hall surface.

Summary of the venue's technical rules, Gran Via Technical Regulations (opens in a new tab) (Fira de Barcelona, August 2026 version), consulted on 3 October 2026. The current version prevails.

Send us your floor plan: we check it against the current rules.

From plot confirmation to opening day

  1. Plot confirmed. Show-specific limits and the build-up timetable sit in the organiser’s login-only exhibitor resources, so we work from your account’s documents alongside the Fira rules. The organiser’s FAQ adds that its Digital Platform opens to exhibitors six to eight weeks before the show.
  2. Design and stand plan. As the builder you hire directly, we send the layout and elevations for approval before build-up; a complex structure waits for its signed project to be approved.
  3. The last days. Outside caterers’ vehicle passes are due 72 hours before opening, your own security staff’s form 48 hours ahead, and requests for extra build-up hours before noon on the day.
  4. Build-up. Everyone carries a Fira personnel pass, nobody under 16 enters, and safety footwear, gloves and eye protection are compulsory; an early start needs Fira’s paid authorisation. See our production, logistics and build method.
  5. Opening. Complex structures hold their stability certificate, and any stand handling food has its food-hygiene commitment form in order.
  6. Breakdown. Waste leaves daily, via a skip inside the venue or Servifira; batteries, oils, bulbs, paints and solvents are recycled, and the plot is returned completely clean.

Seafood Expo questions

Exhibiting at Seafood Expo Global: stand questions answered

What applies if our stand handles or serves seafood?

Food handling on a stand comes under the venue’s food-hygiene commitment form, based on EU Regulation (EC) No 852/2004. The organiser’s vendor list names Gastrofira for catering and ice, and visitors may not leave the show carrying seafood products.

Who supplies refrigeration and cold storage at Seafood Expo Global?

The vendor list names Sefric for refrigeration and RESA Expo Logistics for cold storage, customs and shipping. We mark each unit, its power and its service access on the stand plan.

Can an electrician from another EU country wire our stand?

Yes, but without a Catalan licence they must register and go through an inspection body. Fira only connects power once its Industry Service has approved the installation certificate.

Can we run our own Wi-Fi network on the stand?

Not without approval from Fira’s networks department. The rule covers any 2.4 or 5 GHz equipment, wireless microphones and lighting controls included, and unauthorised networks are switched off and can be fined.

What happens to unsold food and stand waste after the show?

Seafood Expo Global works with the Fundació Banc dels Aliments food bank on food donation. Any cleaning left after breakdown is billed. Budget and timing questions are covered in our exhibition stand FAQ.
