Information checked on 3 October 2026 against the organiser's website; the organiser's information prevails.
Exhibitek Displays is an independent stand builder: not the organiser of ICE Barcelona and not one of its official contractors. The name and logo belong to WorldGaming.
Why a stand at ICE Barcelona is judged from the aisle
ICE Barcelona is WorldGaming’s business-to-business exhibition for the global gaming and betting industry, and the centre of World Gaming Week, which also includes iGB Affiliate. Since its move from London to Fira Gran Via in Barcelona, the show has filled several halls, with one hall given to Gaming Tech Innovation: payments, fintech and data technology.
On the floor are casino and land-based gaming machines, online platforms, sports betting, lottery, bingo, esports and mobile gaming. Visitors are trade only: under-18s are refused, and anyone who looks under 25 may be asked for ID.
Competition for attention is fierce, yet the organiser enforces its open-side rules strictly, so a stand cannot wall itself in to create drama. We work with light, height and screens inside those limits, and keep a quieter meeting area behind the action, as on all our made-to-measure exhibition stands.
Engineering notes for an ICE Barcelona stand
Flown screens and branding. Suspended items keep their underside at least 4 m above the floor, truss tops stay within 7 m, and some halls add their own limits. Complex rigging needs calculations, rated and certified lifting tackle and a drawing of the load on each point.
Floor loads. Gaming cabinets and LED structures meet different floors: 3,000 kg/m² in Halls 1, 5 and 7, 5,000 kg/m² in Halls 2, 3 and 4. Platforms stop at 180 mm, with marked edges and hatches that keep the service chests reachable.
Services. Floor chests provide 400 V CEE supplies of 16, 32 or 63 A, plus water and compressed air. Stands with rooms, stairs or exits need self-contained emergency lighting lasting at least an hour, and lit exit signs.
Stand edge. Products and working equipment sit at least 0.5 m back from the plot edge, and every space-only stand works its stand number into the design.

ICE Barcelona stand rules to plan for
- Height. Single-storey stands, lighting and signage included, stop at 4 m. The organiser can approve up to 6 m, but the stand then counts as a complex structure with engineering calculations.
- Open sides. At least half of every open frontage stays open or fully transparent. Solid wall runs no more than 4 m before a break at least 1 m wide, either fully transparent between 0.5 and 2 m above the floor or slatted with gaps of 5 cm or more. Glass makes up no more than 40% of an open side, frosted glass and LED mesh do not count as transparent, and blinds or curtains are banned. Walls under 1.1 m are exempt.
- Double decks. Island stands only, 6 m overall, requested early on a first-come basis. Decks and stairs are designed for 5 kN/m² and balustrades for 1.6 kN/m², and an upper floor for more than 50 people needs two staircases. Triple decks are not allowed.
- Dividing walls. At least 2.5 m high and always your own, never a neighbour’s wall or the back of a shell scheme. Above 2.4 m the face towards the neighbour is plain, neutral and unbranded.
- Materials. CE-marked and classified to EN 13501-1, with walls and ceilings at C-s2,d0 or better and hanging textiles Class 1. Timber under 25 mm and boards under 18 mm are fire-treated, MDF is decorative only and laminated safety glass is the only glass accepted.
- Ceilings. Closed ceilings and rooms carry at least one smoke detector per 60 square metres; enclosed stands over 100 square metres and rooms under a deck need a professional system linked to Fira’s control centre.

From plot confirmation to opening day
- About four and a half months before opening. Double-deck requests go in, first come, first served. The full file with structural calculations follows about 15 weeks before.
- About 13 weeks before. Complex space-only stands file with Event Support Solutions (ESS), the organiser’s plan inspector: inspection form, dimensioned plans and elevations, 3D views of the open sides, risk and fire risk assessments, method statement, construction phase plan, materials list and waste plan. Late files and resubmissions pay surcharges.
- About 10 weeks before. Plans for non-complex stands are due. ESS issues its Drawing Inspection Notice, without which nothing is built, only once the stand’s waste removal is ordered from Servifira.
- Build-up. Access slots are staggered stand by stand. Upper-deck steel is up six days before opening, rigging is flown by the Thursday before, and structural work ends on the Saturday afternoon; Sunday is for dressing, and structural or messy work that day is charged by the hour. Our workshop-first production and build method suits that timetable.
- Breakdown. No structural breakdown on the closing evening, only product removal. Vehicles over 7.5 t load from the next morning, and the plot is clear by Saturday afternoon.

ICE questions
ICE Barcelona stands: the questions we hear most
Does a logo hung above our stand at ICE Barcelona cost extra?
Yes. Branded rigged items and branded ceilings count as sponsorship and are booked with the organiser, on top of the rigging itself. Branding on the stand’s own walls is not part of that rule.
Can the hall lights above our plot be switched off at ICE?
Only for a fee, with the organiser’s approval, and only if no neighbour is affected; Servifira takes the request. Darker surroundings help screens and lighting effects, and our 3D stand visuals show the difference first.
Who must be on the stand while it is built at ICE Barcelona?
Complex stands name a competent, English-speaking safety officer who stays on the stand through build-up and breakdown; if that person is absent, work stops. Non-complex stands name a project manager.
Which build products are banned at ICE Barcelona?
Two-part fillers such as P38 or Novol are confiscated and can bring a charge or sanction. Lead-based paints are not permitted, and contractors caught using isocyanate or H332-labelled products can be ejected from the halls. Full timber construction on site is not allowed either, so timber elements arrive finished.
Why do ICE Barcelona stand plans have to be ready so early?
Plans are due 10 to 13 weeks before opening, and build-up starts soon after most suppliers reopen from the Christmas break. Design decisions therefore belong in early autumn. Our stand planning FAQ covers lead times in general.
