Gran Via, Montjuïc or the CCIB: which venue is your fair in?
Your exhibitor manual names the venue: one of the two fairgrounds run by Fira de Barcelona, or the CCIB. Each has its own scale, access and build-up logistics.
Gran Via, L’Hospitalet de Llobregat
The large modern venue designed by Toyo Ito: eight halls linked by a walkway, about 240,000 m² of gross exhibition space and a convention centre in Hall 8. Metro lines L9 Sud and L10 Sud stop at Fira and Europa | Fira, and the airport is about 12 km away. Gran Via hosts MWC Barcelona, ISE, ICE Barcelona, LOUPE Europe (formerly Labelexpo Europe), Alimentaria with Hostelco, and Smart City Expo World Congress.
Montjuïc, by Plaça d’Espanya
The historic fairground at the foot of Montjuïc: seven halls, about 153,000 m² of gross space and the Palau de Congressos de Barcelona. Espanya station (L1, L3) is a short walk away, and the calendar mixes trade shows, public fairs and events.
CCIB, next to the Fòrum
The Barcelona International Convention Centre sits on Plaça de Willy Brandt, in the 22@ district, with a convention building and the Fòrum auditorium linked underground. Metro L4 stops at El Maresme | Fòrum. Congress exhibitions there follow the CCIB’s rules and the congress organiser’s manual.
Rules to plan for
Each organiser sets heights, open-side rules and deadlines for stand plans. Two-storey stands need a technical certificate signed by a qualified professional, and every contractor files occupational safety documents before build-up. Power, water, internet and hanging points are ordered through the fair’s services; late orders can cost more.
What we build in Barcelona
Stand services for Barcelona’s international fairs
Barcelona’s big shows reward stands that handle demonstrations and meetings at the same time. Each service is shaped around that.

Custom stands for large halls
Islands and peninsulas with a landmark element that stands out in Gran Via’s halls, and meeting rooms tucked behind.

Design checked against the manual
3D views and drawings verified against the organiser’s rules before you approve them, so plan approval runs smoothly.

Build-up and show support
Crews on site for build-up, a project manager reachable during the show and a clean dismantling.

How we work at Fira Barcelona
- Manual first. We read the exhibitor manual and confirm heights, open sides and deadlines with you in writing.
- Design and approval. 3D views for you, technical drawings for the organiser, and a signed certificate if the stand has two storeys.
- Paperwork. Contractor safety documents, crew registration and a clear list of services to order.
- Production. Every element is made and checked before it travels, so build-up time goes on assembly.
- Access and build-up. Deliveries follow the organiser’s logistics plan; our crew builds, our site lead checks and hands over.
- Show days. Your project manager stays reachable and acts fast on any fix.
- Dismantling. We clear the plot within the window and, on request, store reusable parts for your next Barcelona show.
Barcelona questions
Hiring an exhibition stand builder in Barcelona: common questions
Gran Via or Montjuïc: which will our fair use?
The organiser decides, and the exhibitor manual states it. The largest international fairs, such as MWC Barcelona and ISE, run at Gran Via, while Montjuïc hosts a mix of trade shows, public fairs and events.
Can we build a double-deck stand at Fira Barcelona?
It depends on the hall, the plot and the fair’s rules. A two-storey stand needs a technical certificate signed by a qualified professional and the organiser’s approval, so we check feasibility before designing.
Do you also build at the CCIB?
Yes. Congress exhibitions and sponsor booths at the CCIB follow the venue’s rules and the organiser’s manual. Our method stays the same: rules first, then design, then build.
How early should we start for MWC Barcelona or ISE?
As soon as your space is confirmed. The big shows set early deadlines for plans and service orders, build-up slots are tightly scheduled, and hotels near the venue fill quickly.
Can you handle everything if our team is abroad?
Yes. We work in English and Spanish, deal with the organiser’s technical team and run the build until your staff arrive. More general answers are in our exhibition stand FAQ.
Can you store our stand between Barcelona shows?
Yes, on request. After dismantling we inventory the reusable parts and check them again before the next build, which suits exhibitors who return every year.
