Information checked on 5 October 2026 against the organiser's website; the organiser's information prevails.

Exhibitek Displays is an independent stand builder: not the organiser of SIL Barcelona and not one of its official contractors. The name and logo belong to Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona.

What logistics buyers expect from a stand at SIL Barcelona

SIL Barcelona is the logistics, intralogistics and supply-chain fair of the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona, a public body, not one of Fira de Barcelona’s own events. Its relaunch as the Logistics Innovation Show takes it from Hall 8 at Montjuïc to Gran Via.

Exhibitors cover transport and distribution services, material handling and warehouse automation, supply-chain technology, ports, airports, rail and logistics platforms, and logistics real estate. The organiser describes a more experiential format, with live demonstrations of AI, automation, robotics, data analytics and smart mobility. Entry is for professionals only.

Stands here often run equipment live: a shuttle or picking robot needs guarding and a clear view from the aisle, buyers a quieter table. We plan those zones first, as on all our custom stands built around working equipment.

Engineering notes for a SIL Barcelona stand

Power. An electrician authorised by the Catalan government wires and certifies the stand to Spain’s low-voltage code, and Fira connects it only once approved. Gran Via supplies CEE sockets of 16, 32 or 63 A, and above 50 kW an engineer’s project stamped by the Catalan engineers’ association is needed.

Rigging. With the organiser’s permission, Fira’s rigging supplier installs every point, ordered through ServiFira with a drawing of heights and loads. Points sit at least 1 m apart and take 250 kg in Halls 3, 4 and 6, 150 kg elsewhere, hoist included, within 15 kg per square metre of stand. The organiser’s Montjuïc rules capped hung items at 5.5 m; the new rules and your hall decide.

Loads. Hall 8 at Montjuïc was rated at 5,000 kg/m²; Gran Via’s figure depends on the hall. Heavy machinery and two-storey stands need the technical manager’s approval, so vehicle weights go on the first drawing.

Noise. Demonstrations stay within 3 dB of the hall’s background, and music shows are limited to two a day of 15 minutes.

SIL Barcelona stand rules to plan for

Below: the organiser’s latest rules, written for Montjuïc, with Fira’s Gran Via limits where they differ; new organiser rules prevail once published.

  • A built stand on space-only plots. Flooring, the stand’s own lighting and its own dividing walls at least; a neighbour’s walls are never used.
  • Height. The front stops at 4 m; taller parts step back from the front and from neighbours by at least the extra height, up to 5.5 m where the hall allows, and nothing overhangs the aisle. Fira’s Gran Via limit is 5 m, taller counting as a complex structure, and 4 m for plots entirely under the elevated walkway.
  • Raised floors and two storeys. Floors over 50 cm need a technician’s certificate stamped by the Catalan architects’ association. Two-storey projects come from a qualified technician, with 1:200 plans to the Spanish CTE code, and Fira’s works department gives final approval; Gran Via adds a solidity certificate before opening.
  • Open design. Stands stay as open as possible, or the organiser may move the exhibitor. Backs facing neighbours are finished, and promotion outside the stand needs permission.
  • Fire. Materials must be fire resistant from manufacture, as on-site fireproofing is not accepted. Fira asks for C-s2,d0 walls and ceilings, EFL floor coverings and Class 1 hanging textiles, certified within five years; spray guns, flammable liquids and gas aerosols are banned.
  • Floor. Nothing is drilled, screwed, nailed or glued into the hall, and its walls and columns carry no load. Carpet lies loose or on removable double-sided tape, and raised platforms get a wheelchair ramp.

Summary of the SIL Barcelona 2026 Exhibitor Rules and Regulations (opens in a new tab) (Consorci ZF Internacional, SIL 2026), consulted on 5 October 2026. The organiser's current manual prevails.

Send us your layout: we check it against both sets of rules.

From plot confirmation to opening day

  1. Space data sheet. It confirms your plot; location claims are due within five days of receipt. We then agree heights and demos with you in writing.
  2. About ten weeks before opening. Last point to request exceptional work on the building.
  3. About five weeks before. Dimensioned plans and elevations go to the organiser’s technical department with the signed ECOTAX waste form; approval brings the assembly permit.
  4. About four weeks before. Full payment, or the space is revoked. Build-up is also refused without approved plans, the waste form or settled debts to Fira.
  5. At least two weeks before build-up. ServiFira services are ordered; Fira only guarantees supply ordered by then, and late orders cost more.
  6. Build-up. Five days at Montjuïc; the new rules set Gran Via’s. The last day was for stocking and dressing only, with packaging out 24 hours before opening. Our workshop production and on-site assembly keeps sawing out of the hall.
  7. Dismantling. Closing day allowed hand-carry only, from mid-afternoon, then two days to take structures down; anything left is removed at the exhibitor’s cost.

SIL questions

SIL Barcelona exhibition stands: practical questions

Is the Logistics Innovation Show the same fair as SIL Barcelona?

Yes. The Consorci relaunched SIL, formerly the International Logistics Exhibition, under that name and kept the SIL Barcelona brand. The relaunch also brings the move to Gran Via.

Do Fira de Barcelona’s own stand rules apply at SIL Barcelona?

Partly. The organiser’s rules set stand limits and deadlines, and Fira’s venue rules add safety, fire classes, rigging, electricity and waste. Clauses Fira writes only for its own events, such as its cap on upper-deck area, do not automatically apply.

Can we show trucks, forklifts or robots at SIL Barcelona?

Yes, under the organiser’s rules. Combustion vehicles go on show with empty tanks and disconnected batteries, moving equipment is fenced off from visitors, and machines without CE marking carry a visible notice. The rules also ask for unlimited third-party liability cover for accidents.

Why does the Gran Via hall matter for a SIL stand?

It sets rigging and floor loads, and whether your plot sits under the elevated walkway, where a stand entirely beneath it stops at 4 m. The organiser’s floor plan shows the hall.

What is the ECOTAX form at SIL Barcelona?

The organiser’s waste form, signed by the exhibitor and its stand builder and sent with the plans. Both must leave the space clean after build-up and dismantling, and material left behind is charged per square metre.

Is our stand insured by the SIL organiser?

Fire and civil liability, yes; theft, no, so insure valuable demo equipment separately. More planning answers are in our FAQ on deadlines, budgets and venue paperwork.
