Hispack 2027 stand builder: rules, design and build

Exhibitek Displays is an independent Hispack stand builder at Fira Gran Via. We design and build stands for packaging machinery, labelling and logistics companies, with floor loads, power, compressed air and machine safety settled before the first sketch.

Information checked on 3 October 2026 against the organiser's website; the organiser's information prevails.

Exhibitek Displays is an independent stand builder: not the organiser of Hispack and not one of its official contractors. The name and logo belong to Fira de Barcelona.

Who comes to a stand at Hispack, and what they look for

Hispack is Fira de Barcelona’s trade fair for packaging, process, labelling and logistics. It fills Halls 2 and 3 of Gran Via. In some editions Graphispag, the graphic arts show, runs alongside it in Hall 1; the two started life as a single fair, Graphispack.

The floor is organised around packaging machinery and process, labelling and bottling, logistics, automation and robotics, brand packaging including point of sale, and industrial packaging. Visitors are professionals who come to watch equipment run and to compare materials and suppliers.

That makes a Hispack stand part showroom, part factory floor. A labeller or a case packer has to run safely in front of an audience, samples need shelving, and your engineers need a table away from the noise. We place the machines first and shape the stand around them, as on all our custom exhibition stands.

Engineering notes for a Hispack stand

Floor loads. Halls 2 and 3 take 5,000 kg/m², but Fira’s tables give a lower figure for part of Hall 2, so heavy machines are positioned with Fira before the layout is frozen. Nothing is drilled into the floor, and cement needs a protective layer Fira has approved.

Power. Fira supplies it and legalises each installation through its Industry Service. Up to 50 kW, an installer authorised by the Generalitat signs a technical report with a calculated wiring diagram; above that, a qualified engineer draws a technical project. A rented switchboard includes the legalisation, not that project.

Air and water. Compressed air, water and drainage for running lines are ordered at least two weeks before build-up, like electrical services; later orders are not guaranteed.

Rigging. Only Fira’s service rigs, and nothing hangs from the hall’s auxiliary structures. Exhibitor stands get 150 kg per point in Hall 2 and 250 kg in Hall 3, hoist included, with points 1 m apart, 15 kg per square metre and truss no higher than 7 m. Heavier points in Hall 2 need a feasibility study, so we confirm loads with Fira’s rigging service.

Hispack stand rules to plan for

Fira de Barcelona organises Hispack, so the clauses of its Gran Via rules written for its own events apply in full. The participation rules in the exhibitor area can still change limits such as height and build-up times.

  • Height and the walkway. The general maximum is 5 m, with anything taller treated as a complex structure. Halls 2 and 3 run partly under the connecting walkway: a stand entirely beneath it stops at 4 m, and one only partly beneath may keep a single height up to 5 m if the venue’s service area stays clear.
  • A built stand on every plot. Space-only sites must carry a constructed stand, never using a neighbour’s walls, with every back visible from outside finished decoratively.
  • Double decks. The upper floor covers no more than half the plot and must not block neighbours’ views. Any closed space below it, whatever its size, needs professional smoke detection to UNE 23007-14 linked to the venue’s control centre, and helmets are worn during the work.
  • Complex structures. Freestanding elements over 4 m without three perpendicular bracing faces, stages from 50 cm with access, public seating and complex rigging need a signed project with CTE stability calculations and floor loads. The technician supervises and certifies the build before opening.
  • Fire and ceilings. Walls and ceilings C-s2,d0, floors EFL, hanging textiles Class 1 under UNE-EN 13773, with laboratory certificates under five years old. Ceilings are never fully closed; closed sections need smoke detectors, and over 100 square metres of closed space a professional system.
  • Running machines. CE marking, guards, warning signs and emergency stops; safety devices are never disabled for a demo, and only trained operators run the equipment.

Summary of the venue's technical rules, Gran Via Technical Regulations (opens in a new tab) (Fira de Barcelona, August 2025 version), consulted on 3 October 2026. The current version prevails.

Send us your floor plan: we check it against the venue’s current rules.

From plot confirmation to opening day

  1. Plot confirmed. We check whether your plot sits under the walkway and read the participation rules in your exhibitor area, then fix heights and machine positions with you.
  2. Machine data on the plan. Footprint, weight, power, air and water for each machine go onto the drawings, and heavy positions are cleared with Fira.
  3. Stand project to Fira. We prepare the layout, elevations and details that go to Fira’s Operations Department for approval before build-up; a complex structure travels with its signed project.
  4. About two weeks before build-up. Power, water, drainage and compressed air are ordered, the last date for a guaranteed supply.
  5. Build-up. An early start needs Fira’s approval and is paid; a same-day extension is asked of the Hall Manager before noon. Boom lifts and scaffolding are declared, and vehicles stay only while unloading. See our production, logistics and build method.
  6. Breakdown. Waste leaves daily and never waits in the aisles. Batteries, oils, bulbs, paints and solvents go as special waste, and Fira’s Waste Control service checks compliance.

Hispack questions

Hispack exhibition stand questions

Can we run packaging machines live on our Hispack stand?

Yes, under the machine-safety rules listed above, with trained staff at the controls. Machines without CE marking must still meet Spain’s machinery safety law, and demo noise may rise no more than 3 dB above the hall’s background, never past 60 dB, so a loud line may need an acoustic hood.

How heavy can a machine be on a Hispack stand?

The halls take 5,000 kg/m², except a part of Hall 2 listed lower, so heavy positions are agreed with Fira. Forklifts and cranes are run by qualified staff, and no load passes over people.

Is Hispack held every year?

No. Fira de Barcelona announces each edition, and the gap between recent ones has varied. The facts card shows the edition we are preparing for.

Can we project our logo beyond the Hispack stand?

No. At events Fira organises itself, logos and projections must stay within the stand. We aim screens, gobos and spotlights inwards from the first drawing.

What does Fira check while a Hispack stand is being built?

Its managers and technicians can inspect the stand, ask for documents and stop unsafe work, and a non-compliant stand can be closed or dismantled at the exhibitor’s cost. The paperwork venues ask of stand builders is explained in our general stand FAQ.
